30 Google Business Profile post ideas (with examples)

GBP posts expire after seven days, so you need ideas on demand. Here are 30 post angles, service highlights, behind-the-scenes, FAQs, offers, and team, with one-line examples for each.

A Google Business Profile is most owners’ single highest-ROI marketing channel and most owners’ single most under-used asset. The Posts section is the clearest example. Google added it in 2017. Eight years later, the median profile has fewer than two posts per month and most have none. Posting consistently, once a week minimum, three times a week for competitive markets, measurably improves both ranking and conversion. The barrier is not algorithmic. It is “what do I post about.”

This post is a writing prompt. Thirty post ideas across four post types, with example copy you can adapt. Pick one per week, plus one seasonal, and you have a year of posts that take 15 minutes apiece to write.

How GBP posts work

A GBP post is a small content unit attached to your profile. It shows in your profile’s Updates section, in some local pack results, and in branded search. Each post supports: a photo or video, 150 to 1,500 characters of text, and a CTA button (Call, Book, Order, Learn more, Sign up, Buy).

Posts expire after seven days from the public view (they stay on your profile in the Updates section but rotate out of the prominent display). This means you need new posts weekly, a stale Posts section is worse than no Posts section.

The four post types

The thirty ideas below split across four post categories. A monthly cadence of one post per week works well as one of each type per month, repeated.

  • Service spotlights, focus on a specific service you offer
  • Behind-the-scenes, humanise the business
  • Offers and promotions, limited-time, with a clear CTA
  • Seasonal and educational, tied to the calendar or a customer question

How to actually post 30 posts

Pick a Sunday afternoon. Open a blank doc. Run through the list above and adapt each idea to your specific business, 3 to 5 sentences per post. The whole batch takes two to three hours. Then schedule them in batches of 4 (one month of weekly posts) using the GBP scheduler.

The 30 posts cover seven months of weekly posting. By the time you reach idea 30, the first few are stale enough to refresh with current photos and run again.
